**The right disk for every workload.** Every Compute instance starts with a root volume. Add OPTI-FLASH-NVME volumes as data grows, priced per volume, managed on their own.

## Options

- **OPTI-FLASH-NVME:** High-performance NVMe for low-latency I/O. Databases, production apps, logs, and I/O-heavy services
- **OPTI-COLD-HDD:** Lower-cost HDD capacity for cold storage. Archives, backups, and data you rarely access

## What you get

- **Root volume created automatically:** Created automatically with each instance.
- **Independent lifecycle:** Volumes have their own cost and status in the console.
- **Central view:** Instance, volume, location, type, size, cost, and status in one table.
- **Grow with data:** Add capacity without migrating to a larger instance first.

## How it works

1. **Create a volume:** Choose type and size in the console.
2. **Attach to an instance:** Bind to Cloud Compute: root or additional disks.
3. **Pay per volume:** Cost and status show per volume, separate from compute.
