# Managed Databases

> Optidata Managed Databases create MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB from the console in Miami (US1), with 0, 2 or 4 replicas, 50 GB to 10,000 GB of storage per node on OPTI-FLASH-NVME or OPTI-COLD-HDD, daily or weekly backups keeping 1, 3 or 7 copies, and a private network by default. The monthly total is shown in the console before you create the database.

**You create the database. We run it.** MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB created from the console, on a private network next to your apps. Replicas for failover, daily or weekly backups, storage that grows before it runs out, and the monthly total on screen before you click create.

## What you get

- **Three engines, current versions:** MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. You pick the version when you create the database, with the latest preselected.
- **Replicas for failover:** Add replicas next to the primary, each with its own disk. If the primary fails, a replica takes over.
- **Backups on a schedule:** Daily or weekly, keeping 1, 3, or 7 copies. Every database is backed up between 01:00 and 05:00 UTC in its own slot, so they never all run at once. 50 GB of backup storage included.
- **Storage that grows before it fills:** Automatic disk growth expands the disk when free space runs low, up to a ceiling you set per node. You pay only for what it actually grows, and you can change the ceiling later.
- **NVMe or HDD, per node:** 50 GB to 10,000 GB per node on OPTI-FLASH-NVME for latency-sensitive tables, or OPTI-COLD-HDD for archives and cold data. Replicas get the same disk.
- **Private by default:** The database gets a private address on your network. Internet exposure is off until you turn it on, and then only the CIDR ranges you authorize can connect.
- **Total cost before you create:** Plan, replicas, storage, and backup add up on screen as you configure. The monthly total is visible before you click create, so the first invoice is not a surprise.
- **Same console as the rest:** Databases sit next to Compute, VPCs, and Block Storage, under the same quota, the same bill, and the same team.
- **Humans behind it:** 24/7 NOC and engineers who answer when something looks wrong, not a ticket queue that resolves itself.

## How it works

1. **Region:** Pick the datacenter. Miami (US1) is live for databases today, with your remaining quota shown beside it.
2. **Database:** Engine and version, a name, a size from 2 to 16 vCPU, NVMe or HDD disk, 0, 2, or 4 replicas, and the automatic growth ceiling.
3. **Network:** Private on your network by default. Turn on internet exposure only if you need it, and list the CIDR ranges allowed to connect.
4. **Backup:** Daily or weekly, keeping 1, 3, or 7 copies. Review the monthly total and click create.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which engines and versions are available?

MySQL 8.4.7-7.1, 8.4.5-5.1 and 8.0.44-35.1; PostgreSQL 18.1 and 17.7; MongoDB 8.0.19-7, 8.0.17-6, 8.0.12-4, 7.0.30-16 and 6.0.27-21. The latest version is preselected.

### How do replicas and backups work?

Replicas are off, 2 or 4, each with its own disk and billed at the plan price per node. Backups run daily or weekly, keep 1, 3 or 7 copies, in a window between 01:00 and 05:00 UTC; 50 GB of backup storage is included, then $0.03 per GB-month.

### Can the database be reached from the internet?

It is private by default. Turning on internet exposure assigns a public IP and requires authorized IPv4 CIDR ranges; the console warns before allowing 0.0.0.0/0.

### Where do I see Managed Databases prices?

Plan prices are shown in the console while you configure, with the monthly total before you create the database. They are not on the public price list yet. SQL Server is available on Private Cloud.
