About Optidata

Optidata engineer installing components in a server

Optidata was founded in 2009 by Darlan Segalin, in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The idea was to take the burden of running in-house servers off companies and move those systems to a managed infrastructure.

The first clients were manufacturers from the Santa Catarina industrial hub. Optidata migrated their ERPs and took over the hosting of systems that need to stay up while production runs, a kind of workload that forgives no downtime.

In 2012, with the industrial client base already consolidated, Optidata built its own data center. That step opened the door to clients across all of Brazil. Today there are more than 7,000 companies and more than 25,000 servers across 5 data center regions.

The company is still run by its founder. Darlan is an engineer and has worked with technology and critical-systems architecture for more than two decades. His brother, Liandro Segalin, formalized his role as co-leader in 2022.

In 2014 the two built a healthcare SaaS that ran on Optidata's cloud. The product reached more than 20,000 professionals and 9 million patients served and was sold in 2021. It still runs on Optidata Cloud today, now under its new ownership.

Operating their own product on their own infrastructure showed what was missing inside companies, and that is what led to Optiwork, launched in 2022. Since then, Optidata has maintained two platforms: the infrastructure that hosts client systems and the environment where work happens.

Purpose

Elevating business with cloud

Optidata operates the infrastructure where the critical systems of more than 7,000 companies run: ERPs, databases, and applications that cannot go offline.

In practice, elevating a business means getting infrastructure out of its way. Systems respond when demand rises, security comes already configured, and the invoice arrives at the expected amount. With that handled, the client's team goes back to caring for the product instead of caring for servers.

Values

Four commitments with a fact behind each one.

How Optidata works day to day, from the first contact with support to the line on the invoice.

Our own platform
Optidata builds and operates its own platform, with 25,000 servers under management. There is no vendor between a support ticket and the fix.
Proof before promises
SOC 2 Type II with 88 controls and a 90-day observation window. The complete report goes to the client under NDA before signing.
People close to operations
First response in 8 minutes, because the people who answer sit with the team that operates the platform, not in a triage layer.
Predictability
Optidata charges no egress fees. Cost is predictable because the billing model was defined in the platform's design, not case by case in negotiation.

Trust and reliability

Your compliance team will not have to chase us.

Optidata holds SOC 2 Type II, a continuous-observation audit. Eighty-eight controls are evaluated over a 90-day window, with an independent auditor's opinion at the end.

Our story

From one founder to 7,000+ companies.

  1. 2009

    Born hosting critical systems

Darlan Segalin founds Optidata. The first clients are manufacturers from the Santa Catarina industrial hub, which migrate their ERPs and start hosting with the company the systems that cannot go offline.

  2. 2012

    The first company-owned data center

With a client base built on Santa Catarina's industries, Optidata builds its own data center, designed for the local reality, and takes control of the infrastructure end to end. That step opens the door to clients across all of Brazil.

  3. 2014

The founders' healthcare SaaS becomes an Optidata client

The Segalin brothers build a healthcare SaaS and run it entirely on Optidata Cloud. The product comes in as a client, subject to the same availability and performance requirements as everyone else.

  4. 2018

    Crossed 3,000 clients

The client base passes three thousand. ERPs, databases, and production workloads now run on Optidata.

  5. 2021

    The healthcare SaaS is sold

The product the brothers built is sold after reaching more than 20,000 professionals and 9 million patients served. It keeps running on Optidata Cloud after the sale, now under its new ownership.

  6. 2022

Liandro Segalin formalizes his role, and Optiwork is born

Liandro Segalin formalizes his entry as co-leader of Optidata, and the brothers launch Optiwork, a corporate workplace platform. Optidata becomes a dual-platform company.

  7. 2024

    International expansion

Optidata opens an office in Miami and begins operating cloud regions in two countries. R$30 million is invested in infrastructure, R&D, and international operations.

  8. 2025

First Brazilian cloud with SOC 2 Type II

Optidata earns SOC 2 Type II certification and becomes the first Brazilian cloud to obtain it. The audit covers the cloud and the workplace platform.

  9. 2026

    Still building

7,000+ companies. 25,000+ servers. 5 data center regions. 3 offices in 2 countries. Still founder-led.
