The short answer
At list prices captured on July 31, 2026, a dedicated 4 vCPU / 16 GB server with 200 GB of block storage and 5 TB of outbound traffic a month costs between $75.66 (Oracle Cloud) and $703.49 (Google Cloud) across 7 clouds. Optidata Cloud comes in at $125.85, the second cheapest. Outbound traffic explains most of the spread: on Google Cloud it is $560.13 of the $703.49.
Lowest total by plan size: on dedicated vCPU, Oracle Cloud on 8 of 8; on shared vCPU, Oracle Cloud on 4 of 6, Vultr on 1, Optidata on 1. The tables below show every size, the instance behind each price and the caveats.
- Optidata Cloud, reference server
- $125.85
- Cheapest: Oracle Cloud

- Most expensive: Google Cloud

Key findings
- Oracle Cloud is cheaper than Optidata on 12 of 14 plan sizes, at 0.53x to 1.28x the Optidata total. It bills compute per OCPU and per GB of RAM, so every size is an exact fit, and it includes 10 TB of outbound traffic a month per account.
- AWS costs 2.60x to 7.74x the Optidata total and Google Cloud 2.48x to 9.07x. Neither bundles outbound traffic into the instance, and at their list egress rates the traffic is most of the bill: $441.00 of $604.17 on AWS for the reference server.
- Vultr and DigitalOcean price close to Optidata. Vultr is cheaper on 5 of 14 plan sizes (4 of them on its shared line); DigitalOcean on 2 of 13, and it has no shape for 64 vCPU / 192 GB.
- Magalu Cloud, priced in São Paulo in BRL, costs 1.17x to 2.21x the Optidata total. Its compute is cheaper on 5 of 14 sizes, but no outbound traffic is included, so the total ends higher on every size.
- Kubernetes control planes run from free (Oracle Cloud, DigitalOcean and Vultr) to $73.00 a month (AWS and Google Cloud). Optidata charges $20.00 per cluster.

Storage and egress are what is left to pay after the disk and traffic the plan already bundles. A multiple below 1.00x means that provider is cheaper than Optidata on this workload.

Cores are not shared. Every provider's general-purpose dedicated line, matched to the Optidata Dedicated AMD lineup. Monthly total in USD: instance, plus the reference volume and outbound traffic listed under each size. The multiple is that provider's total divided by Optidata's.

Storage, traffic and platform rates
Every rate outside compute, at list, in USD. "No base fee" means the provider bills that cost on another meter (per request or per GB), not that it is free. Load balancer and object storage rates exclude traffic and request charges where the provider has them.

Method, sources and caveats
When the prices were collected
- Competitor list prices captured
- Competitor prices re-checked on the vendor pages
- Optidata plan prices, from the console catalog
- BRL to USD rate used for Magalu
- 5.0938,
The re-check reopened 174 competitor price points on the vendors' public pages:171 matched, 1 was corrected to the published rate, and 2 could not be reconfirmed because no public page lists them, so they stay as captured.
Method
- Closest published shape that meets or exceeds both the vCPU and the RAM of the Optidata plan. Where a provider has no shape at that size, the next size up is used and flagged as oversized.
- On-demand list price, Linux, no commitment, no reserved instance, no savings plan, no sustained-use or spot discount.
- Hourly rates are converted at 730 h/month, the same convention the Optidata console bills on.
- Monthly totals add a reference block storage volume and reference outbound traffic to each instance, net of whatever disk and traffic the plan already bundles. Egress is tiered on AWS and GCP, so the marginal rate falls as volume grows. The account-level free allowance is added to whatever the instance plan already includes.
Sources
The locations differ: Optidata self-serve runs in Miami (US1), and each competitor is priced in the region named above. This compares list prices, not latency, hardware or performance, and no two SKUs in it are identical.
Caveats
- On-demand list prices, Linux, no usage commitment, no reserved instances and no spot. Negotiated discounts change the result.
- GCP applies an automatic sustained-use discount of up to 20% on N2D when an instance runs the full month. The GCP columns are list price, before that discount.
- AWS, GCP and Oracle bundle neither disk nor transfer into the instance price. DigitalOcean, Vultr and Magalu do. The total-cost view normalizes that.
- Magalu publishes in BRL. The conversion uses the capture-date rate and moves with the exchange rate.
- AWS in sa-east-1 (Sao Paulo) averages 1.6x the us-east-1 price on the same families. GCP in southamerica-east1 applies a 1.5874x multiplier.
- AWS and GCP load balancers carry a traffic-based component that is not part of the base monthly comparison.
- Object storage on AWS, GCP and Oracle bills per request, which is not part of the per-GB rate.
